Mika skidded to a stop the moment the car exploded. The intense heat scorched her skin, and smoke stung her eyes. Tears welled up in her eyes as she raised her arm to protect her eyes. She could hear Kyran coughing out smoke and Matthias’s low growl.
By the time the smoke finally cleared, what remained from that explosion was the Mercedes that didn’t belong to anyone of them, and Mark lying on the floor.
“Mark.” It was barely louder than a whisper, but to Mika, it sounded like the whole world had gone silent, and the only person left speaking was Matthias.
Mika squinted her eyes as she watched Matthias rush forward, stumbling over pieces of rubble from the explosion. It was amazing how one man who wouldn’t bat an eyelash when he murdered someone, wouldn’t even wince when his arm was slashed open, wouldn’t even fumble when the prettiest boy talked to him, was stumbling and tripping over his own feet to get to his brother.
Mika spun around and saw Kyran standing there, his face gone white from shock, except that trickle of blood that ran down the side of his face. Kyran took a step forward, only to fall. Mika rushed to his side, and draped his arm over her shoulder. Kyran blinked, and stared at her with an empty gaze. Mika had never seen such a confused, blank look before.
It was Livvy who was rushing forward that caught Mika’s attention. Livvy, who was wounded herself, agilely stepping over bodies and rubble to get to her best friend’s side.
Livvy was brought to a stop at the sight of Matthias cradling his brother in his arms, his head hung low, his mouth near Mark’s ear. Kyran inhaled sharply, and Mika whipped her attention back to him so quickly, her hair got caught in her face.
“Matthias,” Kyran winced as he stepped forward. Mika glanced down, and saw him bleeding on his side. She was about to say something when Kyran shook his head and continued, “Mark needs medical attention. If he doesn’t get it, Matthias will never forgive himself.”
“You’re bleeding,” Mika stated. Kyran stared at her with his mouth slightly agape and gaze blank.
“Never mind me.” He shook his head. Mika would have said more, but a crunch took her attention back to Livvy, and she was appalled at the sight of Matthias’s dry, red eyes, and Mark’s unmoving body.
“Matthias, hand Mark to me,” Livvy said quietly, as she stood in front of them, about to kneel down.
“Get away from us.” He growled out, and Kyran was struggling under Mika’s arms.
“Kyran-!”
“Don’t touch him!” Matthias snapped. Livvy had reached out to Mark, in hopes of prying him out of Matthias’s hands, but the older twin shoved her back hard, and she fell back into bits of rubble and glass.
“Matthias.”

but here are some back stories to some of them!!
vivi grew up in a single parent family, her mother passed on when she was very young, and she grew up with her father, who was already the city commissioner. when she was growing up, she was often at the station so that her father could look after her while working, but as soon as she hit middle school, it was clear that she needed proper looking after. so he hired someone to look after her at home, and she grew distant from her father, despite seeing him everyday. but when she grew up and got tired of listening to people’s expectations, she told her father two things. #1 she was not going to follow his footsteps #2 she was not straight. until today, she and her father still has a strained relationship and she mostly thinks it’s because she outed herself that way. so in tws, we will see vivi try her best to patch things up with her father, and try to understand his way of thinking.
the gray twins grew up in an abusive household despite the fact that their parents were multi-billionaires that newspapers wrote that deeply loved their sons. when they were fifteen, the twins escaped that hellhole and went to their aunt, felicia lennox. they’re both very different individuals, with matthias being the quiet, cruel, detached one, while mark being the more outspoken. they both have a dependency problem, and does not know how to live without the other. matthias was supposed to be the heir to the gray corporation, but he had no interest in it, while mark was. so mark is set to inherit it after he graduates from nixford private academy. in tws, we’ll see how heavily reliant the twins are on each other, and then their slow growth from a pair to individuals!
nicky was expected and raised to become a ballerina from a tender age of four, but as he grew older, he realized that ballet was not something he wanted to achieve. he grew up in a loving environment, and probably is one of the only members with a complete family. he gave up ballet, which broke his mother’s heart at first, and then pursued music. when he turned eighteen, he moved out to live alone, with the support of his parents. but it turned out that the world was cruel to people like him, and his image of a kind, gentle world was immediately tarnished. we’ll see how nicky changes from a irrational person to someone who really deeply considers his plan of actions before acting on them.
and lastly mika!!! mika was brought up by nobu kasaraghi, her grandfather. but she holds a deep respect for her father because she believes that her grandfather was not a decent person, never mind the fact that he was a notorious crime lord. she rarely was given time to spend with her parents, and instead, was trained to become the kasaraghi family’s most dangerous weapon. she enters nixford university because she wants to dig out more information about her dead brother, and her grandfather. nobu believes that mika enrolled into nixford for a better insight of life, but instead, she actually enrolled to gain the life that she believed she deserved.

after hiding for four years, kyran ravensky returns to nixford city to find his parents’ murderer under the name of kyran hall. when he returns to school as a freshman, he receives an invitation addressed to kyran ravensky, inviting him to the anastasia association’s charity ball. with piqued curiosity, kyran gets entangled between the darker intentions of the association and the truth behind his family’s murder. along with members of the anastasia association, kyran finds himself so entranced that he cannot find his way out.

1: their voice
mika has a very warm voice, and she actually sounds whimsical. she uses it to her advantage when she is out on missions given by her grandfather.
3: their greatest achievement
her biggest achievement would be meeting her long lost brother again despite him not being the brother that she remembers
13: their embarrassing memory from years ago
she once tripped while trying to chase a puppy that she adored so much when she was a child, and smeared ice cream all over her favourite blue dress
21: how they react to pain
she has a high resistance to pain because of her childhood, so she doesn’t react much unless it’s a really near death situation. and she won’t know how to react either
16: their dreams
mika’s dream is to become a singer, but it was quickly ruined as she grew up in the Kasaraghi family
5: their shortcomings
she’s very emotional, and haughty. she’s also temperamental and a bit of a show-off!!

!!!!! oh my god, thank you for taking interest in my characters??? the world they come from is a fictional city called Nixford, that is located in the UK, and most of the characters in the book either are born in Nixford, or have moved to live there. They are all mostly university students, or successful fresh graduates that work undercover for an organization! The city has very old english buildings, and along the ports are all high building apartments, which is where the organization + some of the members live in.
Mika is the granddaughter of Nobu Kasaraghi, and she was raised by his expectations to become one of the best hitmans. She had an older brother that she lost because of her parents. She’s very self-centered, mainly because she was raised to be a successful individual that should not have any hinderances as a hitman! she’s born in Nixford, and she wants to find her brother, because she doesn’t believe he’s dead. She kills without leaving traces of evidence behind, but her work is always the same; a simple slit across the throat, or a broken neck!
Vivi is the daughter of the NCPD’s commissioner, and they fell out a few years ago because she didn’t want to become a police officer. she wanted to pursue forensics science instead. Vivi is a relatively sweet girl who grew up in a broken family, and she thinks of herself as a liberalist. But!! if someone steps on her tail she will not hesitate to kill that person. She’s very protective of her best friend, Livvy, and she cares for everyone in the organization.
Matthias is the son of the billionaire corporation, along with his brother, Mark. their parents died in a fire when they were fifteen, and they lived with their aunt in Nixford until Matthias and Mark found an apartment near her home. Matthias is a person who has a dark sense of humor, and he keeps to himself or Mark. He doesn’t associate himself much with the organization unless necessary. he’s honest to a cruel point, sarcastic, and overprotective!
